Mike Moore scored 24 points and Nathaniel Lester 21 to lead Hofstra to an 83-75 victory over Iona on Thursday night.
The Pride (6-7) ended the first half with a 21-6 run over the final 8:32 to take a 43-28 halftime lead. Moore, who came inaveraging 21.2 points, 17th in the nation, had nine of Hofstra's points in the run and David Imes had six. Imes finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds for Hofstra, which led by at least seven the rest of the way to win its thirdconsecutive game. Lester had 10 rebounds and Dwan McMillan added 10 points and nine assists.
Lamont Jones scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half for the Gaels (10-3), who had won three straight, but they never gotcloser than seven points the rest of the way. Mike Glover had 20 points and 13 rebounds for Iona.
