An Orange County family is offering a $500 reward leading to an arrest after their son was shot in the head with a BB gun.
Margaret Torrelllas says her 14-year-old son, Joseph, was injured on Monday afternoon.
The family was taking a walk in their neighborhood along Orchard Hill road when the shooting occured. News 12 is told the teenager required two staples to be inserted into his head.
“My son grabbed his head and said, 'Ma, I feel dizzy,'” says Torrellas. “I can’t imagine what the outcome would’ve been had his head been in any other position. That as a parent is what’s most horrifying to me - that this could’ve had a much, much worse outcome…”
The Monroe mother says she wants to raise awareness because it could have been anyone targeted. Unfortunately, the family wasn’t able to see whomever shot the BB gun.
State police are actively investigating this matter.
