Missing teen with autism found safe
A missing Putnam County teen with autism was found safe Friday morning.
Diego Salazar, 19, was taken to Putnam Hospital for evaluation after he was spotted by a helicopter in a wooded area close to his home in Brewster at around 8:30 a.m.
Salazar was first reported missing by his family around 5 p.m. on Thursday. The alert prompted a massive search by more than 80 emergency workers from New York to Connecticut.
Salazar was found conscious and unharmed.
