Minisink middle school teacher dies in icy crash
A beloved teacher at Minisink Valley Middle School was mourned by students and staff after his car was found crashed into a tree Thursday.

Police say Christopher Corwin hit a patch of ice too fast around a corner and lost control of his car. They say the 40-year-old, who taught computer technology, spun out along County Route 6 in Greenville while on his way to work.
The Glen Spey resident hit two trees before his car flipped and landed on its roof.
Minisink school district administrators said by statement that Corwin was an inspirational teacher who went above and beyond to help students.
After-school activities at the middle school were canceled Thursday due to the tragedy.
