The Franklin D. Roosevelt Mid-Hudson Bridge turned 90 years old Tuesday.
The bridge connects Poughkeepsie and Highland at a total length of 3,000 feet. Its initial cost was $5.9 million.
According to the New York State Bridge Authority, the Bear Mountain Bridge was the only bridge south of Albany connecting both sides of the Hudson River prior to the construction of the Mid-Hudson Bridge.
