An Orange County 12-year-old is helping the homeless this holiday season with a unique fundraiser called "Operation Socks 2.0"

Last year, Logan Eisenberg and his mom's Facebook post about collecting socks for the homeless in Middletown went viral. Within three days they say they had 500 pairs.

This year, the donation drive is back for a second installment of giving.

Logan's desire to give back started a few years ago when his mom Danielle gave money to a homeless man.

"That's what got us started to talk about the fact there was a homeless shelter locally and that the opportunity was there," says Danielle Eisenberg.

The sock collection was sent to those in need at the Honor Homeless Shelter. This year, Logan is hoping to top their over 3,000 donations from last year.

This time around, the Eisenbergs built a "box tree" in their living room to store donations.

Logan says he doesn't do the donations drives for recognition, but for how it makes him feel.

"It feels good...it always has," says Logan Eisenberg.
