Michael Brown's mother attends Sharpton rally
Families of men fatally shot by police, including Michael Brown's mother, attended a rally in Harlem Wednesday.
The rally was organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton. He was joined by Brown's mother, along with relatives of Akai Gurley and Eric Garner. Gurley was allegedly shot by a police officer last weekend in the stairwell of a NYCHA apartment. Garner died after he was allegedly put in a chokehold by a police officer.
Protests have taken place the past two nights around the country, including New York City, after a grand jury decided not to indict Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson for fatally shooting Brown back in August. Sharpton criticized Wilson's interview with ABC where he said, "I have a clear conscience." Sharpton says Brown's family felt that was insensitive.
Sharpton also reminded the crowd that this will be the first time those three families will spend the holidays without their lost loved ones. The families did not speak at the rally, but they did join in a prayer at the beginning.
