Metro-North suffers first coronavirus-related death
Metro-North has announced its first coronavirus-related death.
Officials say John Oles was a machinist based out of the Harmon Shops and Yard complex in Croton-on-Hudson.
The 57-year-old is survived by his wife and two daughters. He worked for Metro-North for 28 years and was a 30-year member of the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.
As of now, 71 employees have tested positive for the coronavirus with 460 employees quarantined. A total of 345 have returned to work.
