Officials from Metro-North met with Westchester County legislators Monday to give an account of how taxpayer money was spent last year. Metro-North responded by saying capital improvement plans at some of the county stations have been completed. They are also planning more projects such as building more parking spaces and rehabilitating station overpasses, platforms and staircases. However, county legislators say more can be done in a speedier fashion for the districts Metro-North serve. Metro-North officials added that the number of trains serving Westchester increased 13 percent over the past five years and weekly ridership is up 6.5 percent.
