Melee at Mount Vernon club leads to four stabbings
Four Yonkers men are recovering from stab wounds after police say a melee broke out at a Mount Vernon nightclub Sunday.Police officers say they arrived at Dazzle's Restaurant Lounge around 3:30 a.m. to find hundreds of patrons on the street. Ambulance responders also say the scene was chaotic. They initially thought they were picking up one stabbing victim, but say they transported several unidentified men in their 20s to various hospitals.
Investigators spent Sunday pulling up sewer grates looking for the weapons.
Neighbors describe the incident as scary. "You know you can't go out nowhere and have a good time and enjoy yourself anymore. It's sad and dangerous and the place hasn't been there that long. It's like four or five months it's been open," said Allison Blanton.
Police say this isn't the first time they've responded to an incident at Dazzle's. A 20-year-old man was shot outside the club earlier this month and survived.
Mount Vernon Police Commissioner David Chong says no arrests have been made in Sunday's stabbings. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities at 914-665-2510.
