Medical examiner reports 1st coronavirus death in Rockland County; 2nd death in NY

A deceased 65-year-old individual has tested positive for coronavirus, according to the Rockland County medical examiner.

A deceased 64-year-old individual has tested positive for coronavirus, according to the Rockland County medical examiner, making it the second death due to the virus in New York state. 
Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Laura Carbone confirms this is the first death due to coronavirus in Rockland County.
Officials say the man was from Suffern and had other significant health problems which likely contributed to his death. The person died on March 12.
Officials are warning residents to practice social distancing, to stay home if sick and to wash hands frequently.
