A body was found face down in a man-made lake at the Suffern Quarry in Rockland County on Monday, says Mayor Michael Curley.

Multiple first responders were seen on Tilton Road, which connects to a smaller road into the quarry.

"We have our police department here, Ramapo Police Department here, sheriff's department here...all these departments working together. We are going to treat it like a crime scene at this point because we don't know. Again, we don't know what happened,” said Suffern Mayor Michael Curley.

Mayor Curly told News 12 that trespassers have been known to frequent the quarry for years.

The identity of the person is currently unknown.
