Stamford's Art in Public Places series is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a 26-foot-tall, 26,000-pound sculpture of Marilyn Monroe.
The sculpture was assembled Monday afternoon in Latham Park. Before Connecticut, Marilyn debuted in 2012 in Chicago and even traveled to Australia.
Marilyn is the largest of the 36 Seward Johnson sculptures currently dotting downtown Stamford.
Organizers say they hope the public art exhibit brings people together.
Stamford Downtown is offering audio tours of the Seward Johnson sculptures via mobile app.
