A new Marshalls store has officially opened in Parkchester.
Eager shoppers even lined up along East Avenue ahead of the grand opening at 8 a.m. Thursday.
The two-level store occupies the space where a historic movie theater had sat since the 1940s. A rally was held back in July by protesters who wanted to save the theater from a retail takeover.
Marshalls is employing between 75 and 100 people to both full and part-time positions at the new location.
