Rob Cicoria is using his computer expertise to help others - even though he can only type with his pinkies.
Cicoria was involved in a car accident in 1982 and has been in a wheelchair ever since.  He is able to move his arms, but has almost no use of his hands.
After his accident, computers became his lifeline. He says when he discovered the internet, he realized that he wasn’t alone.
Cicoria is using his skills to help Susan Koerner, who lost her job after 17 years.
Koerner says that after she lost her job, she soon realized that she needed computer skills.  She tried teaching herself but says it didn’t go well.
A friend pointed her in the direction of The Loft in White Plains.  After a month of training with Cicoria, Koerner says she is feeling better about her computer skills and convinced the right opportunity is out there somewhere.
Cicoria hopes the difference he is making one pinky at a time inspires people beyond the keyboard.
“You can still have a life after a life-changing incident. Just got to get yourself out there,” he says.
Both Cicoria and Koerner are currently searching for jobs.
