A 34-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a weekend fire in Mount Vernon.
Fire officials reported that the blaze erupted just before 9:30 a.m. Saturday at 449 South Third Ave.
The first floor was heavily engulfed in flames, complicating rescue efforts. During secondary search operations, the body of Keiron Hyre was discovered.
One firefighter sustained injuries from smoke inhalation. While the fire remains under investigation, arson is not suspected.
