A man is dead after fire rips through a home in Yorktown Heights on Sunday.
Yorktown police say a neighbor living on Baldwin Road called 911 just before 5 p.m. on Sunday to report a fire at the home.
Fire officials says the fire may have been burning for 45 minutes before it was reported since the home is in a heavy wooded area. Flames were already shooting through the roof of the house when crews arrived.
Firefighters immediately entered the single family home and found a 53-year-old man unconscious. The crews pulled him out of the house but determined he was already dead. The man’s identity has yet to be released.
About 75 firefighters, police and EMTs worked the scene.  Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
