Police say a man was hospitalized Monday after falling two stories at the Galleria Mall in White Plains.

Authorities say they believe the man was trying to kill himself when he took a plunge in front of shoppers and was critically injured. The man?s fall was believed to have been slowed when he hit a metal awning before falling into the food court.

The man was taken to White Plains Hospital Center in critical condition after suffering several broken bones.
