Man arrested after threatening police with shotgun
Police arrested a man Saturday after he allegedly threatened police with a shotgun.
Authorities responded to the Water Wheel Apartments shortly after 8 a.m. when a call came in about a man with a gun making suicidal threats.
When police knocked on the door they say they heard what sounded like a shotgun being loaded.
Officers took cover as the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Andrew Halter, came outside and pointed a loaded gun at an officer.
After being challenged by other officers, Halter surrendered and was arrested.
Neighbors say Halter is a relatively nice young man and that they are happy no one was hurt in the incident.
Halter is now facing multiple felony charges, including menacing a police officer.
He is being held at the Orange County jail and is due in court Thursday.
