Police have arrested a 40-year-old man they say tried to rape a teenager in a Yonkers apartment complex.

According to police, Evens Innocent grabbed an 18-year-old girl as she was getting off the elevator at the Cromwell Towers apartment complex Tuesday afternoon. Innocent forced the teen into a nearby apartment he had access to and began to rip off the victim?s clothes. Police say the resident of that apartment came home and stopped the attack.

Innocent was arrested near the building a short time after the attack was reported.
