State police have arrested a man suspected in the alleged kidnapping of a woman in Orange County.
Thomas Monaghan was charged yesterday in Bloomingburg for violating an order of protection against his ex-girlfriend.
Detectives say the woman was taken against her will shortly after she went into the Mobilemart in Fair Oaks on Monday. They say she asked the store clerk for help by mouthing "call 911."
Wallkill police say the woman was found safe and uninjured.
"At this time we are fairly certain based on the statements given to us by the suspect and female that they are the people involved in this case," say Chief Robert Hertman.
Monaghan is in Sullivan County Jail.
