Day laborers and the village of Mamaroneck were back in Federal court Tuesday hoping to settle on a permanent hiring site for day laborers. Back in April, six illegal immigrants, who used to gather at Columbus Park, sued Mamaroneck Village. The workers claim their right to free speech and assembly was violated after the village closed the hiring site due to what it says were safety issues. The judge encouraged both sides to resolve the matter, reminding them that if they end up back in court, there will be a loser.
