Mamaroneck business owners fed up with FEMA
Some Mamaroneck business owners hit hard by the nor?easter are frustrated with the process of getting aid from FEMA.
FEMA set up a center at the town hall where business owners can apply for loans of up to $1.5 million to make repairs or fill in for lost income.
But Jim Bilotta, of Billota Kitchens, say the process takes too long and the help isn't enough. ?[The money] doesn't even cover half our damage, FEMA is offering rates higher than the bank."
The owner of a luncheonette that sustained minor damage says he is looking into the loans offered by the government agency. However, he says he is skeptical if FEMA would come through in time to really help.
