Hundreds of students are pledging to eat their vegetables after finding out how fun it is to grow them in their school's garden.

This is the third year that Mamaroneck Avenue School students have successfully grown a garden. Kids from kindergarten to fifth grade planted seeds back in March to grow greens such as cilantro, kale, lettuce and many others.

Now, more than 40 classes are getting a chance to taste the fresh produce that they grew. School officials say planting the garden encourages students to try something new and maintain a healthy diet.

After all the students get a taste from the garden, the remaining greens will be delivered to the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Food Pantry.
