Federal funding is heading to the Hudson Valley to help with storm recovery efforts.

On Saturday, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, and Rockland counties.

The approval unlocks significant FEMA assistance to help local governments boost recovery efforts.

The governor says her administration will work directly with FEMA in the coming weeks to ensure local governments receive the critical funding needed to begin the recovery and rebuilding process.
