The Macy’s store on Route 59 Nanuet is set to close after being in business for more than 30 years.

Macy’s has been aggressively closing stores nationwide as in-store sales decline.

Nanuet Town Supervisor George Hoehmann announced on Thursday that Texas-based “At Home” will move into the first floor.

Developers are also seeking another retailer to occupy the second floor and a restaurant for the atrium area leading to the movie theater.

The construction and additional stores are expected to bring more jobs to the area.

Macy's employees were told they will have the opportunity to relocate to another store.
