Lost wedding gift found in Tarrytown
A wedding gift that was lost in Tarrytown last October was recently returned.
Firefighter Bryan Meade says he was a guest at his friend Teresa's wedding when he lost the gift.
"I was upset, I was sad. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what I did with it, where I lost it," he says.
The gift was a card with $200 in cash stuffed inside.
Figuring the money was lost, Meade bought them a new card and put in another $200.
The bride, Teresa Goldstein, says she randomly checked her "other" folder on Facebook a few days ago. The folder is where messages go to when they're sent by strangers on the site.
She says there were eight messages from Peter Palushaj.
Palushaj had found the card with the cash near the Tappan Zee Bridge right after the wedding.
He and his wife tracked Goldstein down on Facebook and spent weeks messaging her, trying to get in touch to give her back the money.
Goldstein says she tried to give Palushaj a reward as a thank you, but he and his wife wouldn't accept it.
