Students and staff at Suffern High School are coming to grips with the sudden death of a longtime coach.
Michael DeSimone, 58, an assistant wrestling coach and guidance counselor at the school, died suddenly Tuesday night.
He leaves behind a wife and three children. DeSimone's brother says he also leaves behind a career and legacy that his family is very proud of.
Wake services are being held Saturday and Sunday at the Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern. A funeral for DeSimone will be held Monday at the Church of the Presentation in Saddle River, New Jersey.
The Ramapo Central School District says grief counselors have been made available at the school, and will be available again on Monday.
