Some local supermarkets have begun rationing items like bottled water and household cleaners as shoppers, fearful of the coronavirus, rush to stores for items.
"While some items were plentiful, the shelves were bare when it came to canned goods, toilet paper and paper napkins," says News 12's Carol Wilkinson.
Many shoppers are heading to drug stores for items that are in short supply elsewhere, like canned goods and baby wipes.
Some people say they plan to do more ordering online as a means of getting the items they need and avoiding exposure to crowds at the supermarket.
