Hundreds of people attended Saturday?s dedication in Elmsford to honor a local soldier who was killed in Iraq last year. Army Specialist Michael Aricola, 20, was killed in Iraq in February. Family and friends remember how much he loved playing baseball. They say they wanted to honor his sacrifice. They chose to dedicate the minor league baseball field in West Rumbrook Park in Aricola?s honor. Aricola?s sister, Amanda, and community leaders had the honor of throwing the first pitch. The Aricola family is also sponsoring a team in honor of their son, named ?The Angels.? State Senator Nick Spano (R-Yonkers) also announced a $50,000 state grant will be used to renovate the little league clubhouse.
