Parts of the Hudson Valley could see the first significant amount of snowfall since the freak storm in October.

The National Weather Service says periods of rain today are expected to change over to snow in Orange, Duchess and Putnam counties tonight, with accumulations totaling 1-3 inches. Most of Rockland and Westchester counties will get periods of rain and may get some small accumulations.

News 12 Meteorologist Brysen VanEck says the rain will change over to snow around midnight in some areas but should be gone across the Hudson Valley by 7 a.m.

Local DPW crews are bracing for the bad weather. Crews from the White Plains DPW say they have plenty of road salt and sand and will have plows ready to go if situation warrants.
