The future of Rye Playland is in the air again after the outgoing administration made last-minute changes to the deal, according to Westchester County Executive George Latimer.
"We have to go back to what was originally discussed, and why there is a Playland, and why it exists to this day," he says.
According to Latimer, changes that could become a burden to taxpayers were made to the agreement between November and January.
The new terms would cost the county a "significant amount of money" before the park's operator has to invest its own money.
The operator, Standard Amusements, says it is looking forward to addressing any concerns the county may have.
