Residents in Nyack told News 12 that Saturday morning's boating accident was not entirely shocking for those who remember the tragedy on the Hudson River three years ago.
News 12 reported extensively on the wedding party boating crash that killed bride-to-be Lindsey Stewart, of Piermont, and her fiance's best man Mark Lennon, of Pearl River.
Boat operator Jojo John, 36, of Nyack, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter in the July 26, 2013 crash, and was sentenced to two years in prison in 2014.
"It seems like it's been happening a lot. Maybe they should put up more lights," one resident said.
Some residents in the area said they believe better bridge construction planning could have helped avoid the latest incident.
