Kawasaki Rail Car has been manufacturing trains for the NYC subway and other transit systems on Wells Avenue for 25 years.
With the help of a $500,000 grant from the Empire State Economic Development Board, Kawasaki purchased the property it formerly leased for $25 million.
The company had considered moving across country to its Nebraska plant.
Kawasaki's decision to stay in Yonkers is good news for the 380 workers who will keep their jobs.
