Jews across WC, HV mark start of Hanukkah
Jewish residents across Westchester and the Hudson Valley are making the start of Hanukkah.
The Jewish faith states that a candelabra burned for eight days straight with only one day's worth of oil. The holiday commemorates the rededication of the temple in Jerusalem after it was taken back from Syrians centuries ago.
The holiday is observed over eight days by lighting one candle each night on a menorah.
