JetBlue checks into Westchester County Airport
Just after 9 a.m. Wednesday, JetBlue launched it?s first flight out of Westchester County Airport.
County officials were there to help celebrate the maiden voyage bound for Orlando, Florida. Next week, a second daily flight to Orlando will be added in addition to one daily non-stop flight to Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Low fares, spacious legroom and personal televisions are just some of the features of JetBlue flights that passengers enjoy. AirTran already has successful low-fare flights out of Westchester to Florida but a possible price war would help travelers and the county airport.
Now that the airline has arrived in Westchester, locals say they?ll use the airport more. However, county officials encourage travelers to get rides as parking spaces are limited and illegal parking won?t be tolerated by police.
