New Rochelle native Jay Leno hosted the third annual "Really Big Show" Saturday – a benefit event for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Westchester.

The former late night host called the Big Brother and Big Sisters "a terrific organization." 

"You don't really see the fruits of it until 20 or 30 years later when someone says 'I got to go to this college because of something you did or a program you set up,'" Leno told News 12. 

The variety show models the iconic "Ed Sullivan Show." The founder of the event Rich Franchella decided to combine his love for classic show and his passion for mentoring kids and came up with the idea.

"At some point in your life, you look back and say 'what can I do to help?' This was just one of the best ways to do it," said Franchella. 

People in attendance at the SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center enjoyed a variety of performances by artists, including two-time Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis. Former New York Giants Running Back Tiki Barber served as the emcee.

Organizers say the event highlights the importance of mentoring children and they hope to recruit more volunteers to their program.
