Harrison residents brought their Italian pride into the streets during the annual Columbus Day Parade.
Hundreds turned out in force along Halstead Avenue for the annual celebration of all things Italian.
Nora Sosa-Isles and her husband have been going to the event for more than three decades, and they say they never get tired of the marching bands, honor guards and the sense of community.
"The parade is very folksy," said Sosa-Isles. "It brings us all together. The diversity is outrageously beautiful."
As those in the crowd waved their red, white and green flags with pride, many said you don't have to be Italian to find something to love about the parade.
"I like the cheerleaders, firetrucks, ambulances and the whole parade," said Susie Jolink, of Harrison.
