Authorities in Chester are trying to rule out foul play in a fire that took the life of a man on Saturday.
Officials in Chester say fire broke out sometime before 7 a.m. and engulfed the one-bedroom apartment, located above a detached garage the property owners were renting out on Bellvale Road.
Investigators say the victim was a man in his 30s, but his identity will not be released until his family is notified.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time. "At this point we don’t have anything specific to indicate that there was any foul play. The purpose of the investigation is to rule out anything possibly criminal,"  says Chester Police Chief Daniel Doellinger.
