An injured hiker was rescued from Palisades Interstate Park, just across the Rockland County border, on Monday evening.
The roughly hour-and-a-half ordeal began around 5 p.m.
Palisades police said via Twitter that the victim somehow fell down the waterfall at Peanut Leap Falls. Another officer at the scene said he was hiking up the falls about 2 miles north of Alpine Boat Basin with a group of friends when he fell.
Palisades police and Closter and Englewood emergency crews quickly responded to the scene.
The teen was loaded onto a boat in the Hudson River and eventually taken to a hospital in Hackensack.
The boy's identity and condition haven't been released.
