Remembering 9/11: Yonkers Girls Scouts reflect on what it means to 'never forget'
The impacts of the tragic events are still keenly felt in Yonkers, as the city lost two firefighters this year due to 9/11-related illnesses.

10h agoYonkers has remembered the 26 residents who died on Sept. 11, 2001 for 22 years.
Girl Scout Troop 1582 was on hand to say the Pledge of Allegiance and hand out flowers at a remembrance ceremony at the Waterfront Memorial in Yonkers.
It was a dose of history that happened a decade before any of the 11 and 12 year old girls were born.
"I guess this kind of made me feel something because it made me kind of experience it," said Girl Scout Erin McNamara.
The girls said attending the event helped them understand the impact the terror attacks left on Yonkers.
"It's sad, but I'm also kind of proud because it's where I'm from and it's that the people where I'm from went out to save strangers that they didn't even know," said Girl Scout Meahb Stack.
