Over 150 immigrants in Rockland County officially became United States citizens today.

Residents from 46 different countries took the Oath of Allegiance and became naturalized during a ceremony at Willow Grove Elementary School in Thiells. Many say they have spent years waiting for this day.

The U.S. welcomes around 680,000 citizens during naturalization ceremonies across the country and around the world every year.
