Immigrant says Mt. Kisco cops left him on side of road
In the wake of the investigation into the murder of Rene Perez, a illegal Guatemalan immigrant has come forward to allege Mt. Kisco police left him on the side of a road two years ago.
Bedford police recently admitted they took a drunken Perez to Mt. Kisco one night in April. A few hours later, Perez called police from a Mt. Kisco Laundromat and three cops responded. Perez was later found dying on a stretch of Byram Lake Road.
Tolentino Velasquez said he has a similar story. He said he was drunk and involved in a fight outside a deli in June 2005. When Mt. Kisco police responded, he says they ordered him into the backseat of a patrol car and drove him to Byram Lake Road. He says they told him to get out of the car.
According to Velasquez, he reported his incident to Bedford police shortly after Perez?s death.
Neither Bedford nor Mount Kisco police would comment to News 12 Westchester about his accusation.
Mt. Kisco Village Mayor Michael Cindrich said in a published report there are no credible reports of border dumping by the village police department.
