Hundreds without power after deadly accident in Cortlandt

Police say a driver lost control of a van and hit a utility pole on West Mount Airy Road near Hollis Lane on Wednesday.

Hundreds of customers are without power after a deadly crash in Cortlandt.
Police say it happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on West Mount Airy Road near Hollis Lane.
News 12 is told two people from the Bronx were heading west when the driver lost control of the van and hit a utility pole.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Con Ed says power in the area should be restored this afternoon.
