Bicyclists took part in a show of solidarity Sunday at the Westchester County Center Sunday to protest police brutality, racism, and systemic injustice.
Hundreds of cyclists participated in the Ride for Justice. Organizers of the event say they felt compelled to do something for their community in light of the recent events surrounding the killings of black men, women and children and to send the message that Black Lives Matter. The event also aimed to promote health and wellness.
The group gathered in the center parking lot before the 15-mile round-trip bike ride on the Bronx River Parkway.
Organizers say not only is the ride a great way to send a message, but also get some exercise while practicing safe social distancing.
