Family and friends said an emotional goodbye to a hero from White Plains Friday morning.

Hundreds of firefighters lined the streets on Lexington Avenue to pay tribute to Lt. Clark Douglass who passed away this week from colon cancer believed to have been brought on by his work at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks. 

“I was down on the pile with Clarky. He worked tirelessly, he didn't want to take a break. He didn't want to come to back to White Plains because there were more people to rescue,” said Lt. Kevin Heffernan.

Lt. Douglass, 53, was a 30-year veteran of the fire department. He leaves behind a wife and three children. He was laid to rest at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
