Hundreds of veterans in the Hudson valley will now have a warm meal for the holidays.
The Veterans Angels of Hope collected more than 200 turkeys, vegetables and desserts to give out to local veterans in Sloatsburg.
They say it is all about giving back to the people who served our country.
"We see quite a few veterans living in poverty and this is an effort to make sure that during the holidays that they have a plentiful amount of food, and it's just great to see so many people from the community coming together to donate food and to distribute it to people who need it,” said Sen. David Carlucci (38th District).
This is the fifth year the event took place.
