Hundreds of homeless cats and dogs will hopefully find a new place to call home this weekend.
The Best Friends Animal Society and dozens of other shelters partnered up to find families to adopt over 600 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens this weekend at the Westchester County Center.
Organizers say the event is all about saving the animals’ lives. Every day, more than 4,000 cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters nationwide because they don't have a place to call home.
“The great part about the animals here is they are teed up and ready to come home with you and the best thing you can do to help save a life is to come and adopt one of them,” said Elizabeth Jensen, from the Best Friends Animal Society.
Organizers say there are cats and dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels available, making it very easy for people to find the companion right for them.
The event will continue Sunday from  10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
