Power has been restored for over 400 Con Ed customers left in the dark Saturday by a transformer fire in New Rochelle.
It all happened at around 3:30 p.m. on Pratt and Monroe streets, according to officials.
The fire forced the closure of streets and left more than 400 customers without power.
A similar fire also occurred on June 22, 2024, which sent crews to the scene to extinguish the flames and restore electricity.
As far as Saturday's event, a Con Ed spokesman said a piece of equipment caught fire. However, he said the utility was still investigating as of Saturday night and could not confirm whether a transformer unit was actually burning.
