Hundreds of friends, family, and neighbors gathered to honor a newly graduated nurse in Yonkers this weekend.
The family of 21-year-old Alyssa Torres planned a surprise parade past their home after her graduation ceremony was canceled.
The procession, led by Yonkers police, included more than 40 cars and trucks. "People came from different states, Connecticut and Jersey.  I love everyone who came to visit me.  I have a friend who just graduated today as well, she too was in this line.  It means a lot to me and I am so grateful," says Torres.
The newly graduated registered nurse plans to continue her work in the emergency room at a hospital in Delaware.
